Government grants new F&B businesses can apply for in Singapore
Running a food and beverage business in Singapore is no small feat. Between rising labour costs, tight margins, and the constant pressure to keep up with customer expectations, every dollar counts. The good news is that the Singapore government offers a solid range of grants designed to help F&B operators invest in better equipment, improve energy efficiency, and support their workforce, without shouldering the full cost alone. Here is a practical breakdown of the key grants available in 2026, what they cover, and how to qualify.

1. Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG)
The one most F&B owners should know about. Administered by Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG), the PSG helps local SMEs adopt pre-approved equipment and IT solutions to boost productivity and reduce reliance on manual labour. For F&B businesses, this is the most directly useful grant — it covers a specific list of commercial kitchen equipment at up to 50% of the cost.
Who Can Apply
● Registered and operating in Singapore
● At least 30% local shareholding, held directly or indirectly by Singaporeans or Singapore PRs
● Group annual sales turnover not exceeding S$100 million, or group employment size not exceeding 200 employees
● Equipment must be purchased and used in Singapore
● Must not have made any payment or deposit to a vendor before submitting the application
Charities, religious entities, government agencies and their subsidiaries are not eligible.
How Much Support
● Up to 50% of qualifying costs for SMEs
● Capped at S$30,000 per company per financial year (April to March)
● Funds are disbursed via PayNow Corporate, typically within 14 business days after a successful claim
How to Apply
1. Browse the GoBusiness PSG Solutions Directory (grants.gobusiness.gov.sg) and identify the equipment you need
2. Get a quotation from a pre-approved PSG vendor — you must use vendors on the approved list
3. Submit your application on the Business Grants Portal (BGP) at businessgrants.gov.sg — before making any payment
4. Await approval (typically within 6 weeks)
5. Accept the Letter of Offer
6. Purchase the equipment or IT solution
7. Submit your claim, after using the equipment or solution for at least 30 days, before the claim due date in your letter of offer (invoice, proof of payment, delivery order, and photos of the equipment installed and in use are required)
2. Energy Efficiency Grant (EEG)
Offset the cost of energy-saving equipment. The EEG, co-funded by EnterpriseSG, helps businesses invest in energy-efficient equipment. With electricity a major overhead for kitchens and refrigeration-heavy operations, upgrading to more efficient equipment can deliver real long-term savings. The EEG has been extended through 31 March 2027, with plans announced at Budget 2026 to expand and extend it further to 31 March 2028.
Who Can Apply (Food Services)
● Business entity registered and operating in Singapore
● At least 30% local shareholding
● Must hold a valid Singapore Food Agency (SFA) licence
● Classified under SSIC 56 (food and beverage service activities) or SSIC 68104
● Equipment must be used in Singapore and not purchased before application submission
● Businesses operating from residential addresses are not eligible
How Much Support
For food services businesses, only the Base Tier applies.
● Up to 70% support for qualified equipment costs
● Capped at S$30,000 per company per financial year
How to Apply
1. Browse the GoBusiness EEG Food Services Sector list of supported equipment (opens in a new tab)
2. Get a quotation and brochure for a pre-approved equipment model — more than one unit can be applied for at a time if required
3. Ensure your SFA licence application has received IPA (in-principle approval)
4. Submit your application on the Business Grants Portal (BGP) at businessgrants.gov.sg — before making any payment
5. Await approval (typically within 6 weeks)
6. Accept the Letter of Offer
7. Purchase the equipment
8. Submit your claim before the claim due date in your letter of offer (invoice, proof of payment, delivery order, and photos of the equipment installed and in use are required)
3. Part-Time Re-Employment Grant (PTRG)
For F&B businesses with staff aged 60 and above. The F&B industry has long relied on experienced senior workers — from seasoned wok chefs to veteran service staff who know the regulars by name. The PTRG, administered by MOM and the Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF), rewards employers who formalise flexible and part-time work arrangements for these workers. The grant has been extended through 31 December 2027.
Who Can Apply
Any company registered or incorporated in Singapore, provided it:
● Has at least one resident senior worker aged 60 years and above (Singapore Citizen or PR) at the point of application and claim
● Has not previously received the PTRG under the previous tranche (1 Jul 2020 to 31 Dec 2022) — this is a one-time grant per company
Shareholders, directors, or family members of shareholders and directors are not eligible workers for the purposes of this grant.
How to Qualify
Companies must fulfil all four of the following:
● Provide part-time re-employment to eligible senior workers who request it
● Adopt the Tripartite Standard on Age-Friendly Workplace Practices
● Formalise Flexible Work Arrangements (FWAs) and Structured Career Planning (SCP) as part of official HR policy
● Send one senior management representative and one HR practitioner to a fully funded SCP workshop conducted by SNEF
How Much Support
● S$2,500 per eligible resident senior worker aged 60 and above
● Capped at S$125,000 per company (equivalent to 50 senior workers)
How to Apply
Applications go through SNEF (snef.org.sg/grants/ptrg), the sole appointed Programme Partner. Documents required: a soft copy of the senior worker's NRIC (front and back) and employment contract.
Between the PSG, EEG, and PTRG, a small F&B outfit could unlock over S$180,000 in support before spending a dollar of its own.
Key Reminders Before You Apply
● Apply before you pay. For PSG and EEG, submit your application before signing contracts or paying vendors. Pre-payment disqualifies the application, no exceptions. Paying after approval but before a final decision is allowed, but you forfeit the claim if the application is unsuccessful.
● Use pre-approved vendors. Equipment must come from a vendor on the GoBusiness PSG or EEG approved list.
● Check your SSIC code. Eligibility for sector-specific grants like EEG (Food Services) depends on your Singapore Standard Industrial Classification code — make sure it accurately reflects the business activity.
● Grant caps reset on 1 April each year. If multiple equipment purchases are planned, time them across financial years to maximise total support.
What to Do Next
Most of these grants run through the Business Grants Portal (businessgrants.gov.sg); the PTRG is the exception, administered separately through SNEF (snef.org.sg). If you're weighing which grants apply to your setup, or want a second pair of eyes on an application before you submit, [LINK: Secret Sauce Grants & Compliance Advisory service page] can walk through eligibility and paperwork before you commit to a vendor. For personalised, no-cost guidance, an SME Centre near you can also help match the right grant to your business. Grant details are accurate as of June 2026 — always check the latest terms on GoBusiness before applying, since caps and eligibility criteria are revised periodically.

Pay the vendor first, and the grant is gone before you can claim it.
Apply before you pay
For PSG and EEG, submit your application on the Business Grants Portal before signing any contract or paying a vendor. Pre-payment automatically disqualifies the claim — no exceptions.
